I've discussed some of these with Andrew, I hope he doesn't mind me posting them here as well. :)

First, I was wondering if there was a better option to select a @friend in a twit* or reply than the rolling slot machine selector. When you have a lot of friends, even a couple of hundred, and you want to find @waysidedrive, you end up doing a lot of flicking to get there. Is there any way to get a similar interface as Contacts or Facebook has, with the alphabet on the right and touching that scrolls you to the letter you tried to touch? Since Facebook is doing it, maybe there's a public API that can be used.

Second, I'd like to be able to filter out hashtags. Sometimes something is going on that I don't care about, like #americanidol. If I could click on the Twit and select and option to filter that hashtag, that would be great, and much easier than typing it in myself. But I'd accept that if I had to.

Third, and I've seen this in another iPhone Twitter app, is the ability for it to a) tell me that the link I was following was for YouTube, do I still want to continue, and if I accept, b) opens the link in YouTube, not in the internal browser. It even does this for shortened links, which means it's parsing and expanding the link, seeing it's YouTube, and then doing all I just described. Maybe there's an API for this.

I've discussed 2 and 3 with Andrew, but just wanted to put them out there as I've since had the idea for 1 as well.

I am really enjoying the features of Twittelator Pro, and know Andrew is going to keep making it better.

P.S. I would love to see a Twittelator Desktop app that synced with the iPhone app, so I could easily go back and forth and keep my place! :D

*Yeah, I call 'em Twits. Deal with it. :P

I have another feature request, though I don't know if this one is "politically correct."

When someone posts a link to twitpic, I'd like to have an option in the settings where instead of opening the whole twitpic page, it just shows me the photo, full screen. Then, maybe tap the pic or have a button to take me to the twitpic page if I want.

The reason I request this is the pic is always too small, and even when I double tap there's still a border around it or something that keeps it from being full screen.

Speaking of the settings, I've been having trouble scrolling through the settings without accidentally hitting something. I don't know if there is a better way to space them but it would be nice to reduce accidental changes.

BTW, the latest version has some really great improvements so thanks for that!

2.2 is out, and it does the full screen TwitPic that I requested (also apparently from other picture posting services). The redesign of the profile page is really nice and much more intuitive, yet it also added features. The "via @user" retweet format has been fixed (most people who use "via" put it at the end, not the beginning).

There are a bunch more features I haven't used or encountered yet. But I love the way this just keeps getting better. :)

Maybe this has happened in an earlier version and I missed it, but now when you click a YouTube link, first you get a YouTube mobile page internally, and then if you click the video, it plays it internally as well. Nice. I don't like bouncing out of the app and then having to go back into continue reading twits. I can't wait until the 3.0 OS ships so that sending emails can be done internally as well.

This one appeared in the latest update the other night. Twittelator Pro just keeps getting better. :D

Twittelator Pro is still improving. Nice job, Andrew.

One thing I'd like to see is the newer friend list everywhere, like when selecting friends for subgroups. I'd also like that interface to be less confusing. It's a little tricky to get the friend list to come up. By default, the keyboard comes up, and it's hard to get rid of so I can see the friend selector.

Twittelator Pro continues to improve. Here are some more of my thoughts.

When I create subgroups, that interface is just… odd. Getting the friend list to come up is something that takes me a few tries. I think it should come up straight away unless you're naming the group.

The other problem with subgroups is that it uses the global Twitter search. Unfortunately, if any of those people have their Tweets as private, they can't be shown. Meanwhile, those same tweets are available in the main list if you are following them. I think I might like to see a subgroup option off the main list of tweets, you select your subgroup and Twittelator pares down the posts to the ones belonging to the subgroup.

Another feature I'd love to see are following/followers lists, sort of like what you can get to from your twitter web page. Only, I'd also like to see in my following list who is following me back, and see who I am following in my followers list. From there, I'd like to be able to access their profile so I can follow/unfollow or block etc.

That's a good idea.

Great app! One (small?) thing would make a huge difference to me: the ability to view tweets from Friends, Mentions, and Messages from all three of my accounts in a single timeline, intermingled, rather than having to go back and forth refreshing accounts all the time. Seesmic Desktop does this; I imagine their iPhone app will too when it comes out. Hugely more convenient. Maybe a switch in Preferences ("Single Timeline") to turn this on or off?

Thanks for your time!
