Hello to the forum!

Im happy with Create 13 with one small problem persisting:
im am using the german keyboard-layout and stumble almost every project over the size-format in the inspector-panel.
Although most values in other panels are set to the usual european "0,0"-format, the sizes stuck with "0.0" and don´t accept the decimal-mark. This is annoying when you usually use the num-pad of the keyboard to insert numbers.
Changing the keyboard-layout would be a solution but its sometimes hard to find characters without switching back to german (we often use ä,ö,ü and ß).
Perhaps there is a workaround in the terminal?
___

The small request i have:
is it possible to assign to a document a certain ICC-profile?

The colour-well and all tools are set to no profile in general. So black i.e. is cmyk 74/71/64/84 instead of 0/0/0/100 and has to be set manually every time.
I think this would be a great enhancement to create.

In cooperation with PStill and the profiles that are assigned there the workflow should be more consistent.

And in addition to this: is there a way to preserve color-schemes with a single document? Some kind of individual color-well for each document? For now it seems that the choosen colors are preserved with the system-wide-color-well.
This would improve working with colors a lot espacially you have several different color-schemes you have to work with…

With kind regards,
AWolff

I'm always happy to take better localization strings from native speakers.

Also send me a small screen grab of the inspector that is not "0,0" localized so I know where to look.

As for ICC profiles, that's exactly what PStill already does, so just add PStill to your PDF workflow. Even if your colors are not perfect in Create, you can easily map them to exact SPOTs or CMYK's in PStill's Color Management panel.

You might consider adding swatches of the CMYK colors you need for a document to the bottom of the Color panel, and use those - however those are per user not per document, so you might need a few rows of them!

I am aware of this possibilitiy - but this adds work (imho) on the wrong side of the workbench. For i would have to adjust the perfect color in an entire different programm. And this for each project i do. A document-depended color-profile would make thinks a (lot) bit easier. Especially for the colors can differ heavy in different profiles.

I assume that i have asked a lot more than i have imagined. As i understand the entire color-thing depends completly on the OS-integrated technology. This means you have to set up a complete color-well for Create. A real huge work. Does the icc-profiles depend on the OS, too?

Thanks for your repply
With kind regards

You might consider saving your colors (CYMK,RGB,etc) to the Color Palettes in the Color Chooser and giving them whatever name you need i.e "Official Company Colors". This will create a .clr file in ~/Library/Colors. This is much like making swatches in InDesign, Illustrator, Quark...

You can send this file to any other Mac 10.x user and the Color Palette will be added to their Color Chooser. If you are running OS X Server, you could also place the file in the Network Library to be used by users with Networked Home Directories.

Great idea about the color lists!

And re: the localization of "," versus "." as a decimal separator, try this version of Create:

ftp://ftp.swcp.com/pub/tmp/a/Create-2007-03-19.dmg

Also, a new feature just added today might be of interest to you:

If you have a column or row of items of the same width and height, resizing one of them will resize all the selected items!
