I have to submit a set of photos to a client that requires: "jpeg images should be 500 pixels long and saved at jpg quality level 7."

1. I'm pretty sure that P2W "Scale or Size All Photos" set to Absolute Size 500 Pixels Width will fulfill the first requirement.

2. But the "jpg quality level 7" escapes me. The closest I can find seems to be a "best guess" slider in P2W's Web Image Preview.

Is is possible to add a numeric value to the jpg quality slider? I assume that the default setting is 7, so I'd be OK as long as I don't touch the slider. Is that right. It would be nice to be able to know the exact jpg quality level we are using.

Is there another way to do this? Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Quality is 0 to 1 so "7" must mean somehow ".70"! Every vendor must map the 0-1 in different ways.

If you typed this into a Terminal window:

defaults write com.stone.PhotoToWeb Compression ".7"

and relaunch PhotoToWeb, and any new album will take that compression ratio.

I'll consider adding numeric output which means nothing to most people, and even less if they are expecting a number 10 times as great!

Thanks, Andrew! I followed your Terminal instructions, and if my "visual memory" is accurate, the jpg quality 7 is slightly lower than what it was before so my guess is that the default must have been 8.

Actually, I would have expected percentage, such as "70%." I thought jpg is such an "old" standard that the terminology would have been standardized several years ago.

Thanks again for the quick, accurate response. It's great to have the best customer support in the world!
