Security... settings are currently part of the File menu

This works great if I want to apply security settings to a bunch of files dropped onto PStill.

however, I'm wondering if Security settings might be also be applied as part of job options. This would allow me to specify the security settings used to convert PS files to PDF via watched folders

E.G.:

PS_Folder1 (Watched Folder) makes PDF files into PDF_Folder1 with Security Settings 1

PS_Folder2 (Watched folder) makes PDF files into PDF_Folder2 with Security Settings 2

It's not a big deal now to apply the security settings after the fact. However, it's not uncommon to need two different security settings (e.g. two different passwords) for two different clients. Using Watched folders to do it all on the fly may be quicker in some cases.

The current model is great and I certainly wouldn't want to see it go away.

Hope that makes sense

Your desired feature is already implemented - didn't you see the keys?
Code:
    UseSecurity = 1;
    UseStrongEncryption = 1;
    DisallowAnnotation = 1;
    DisallowCopy = 1;
    DisallowModification = 1;
    DisallowPrinting = 1;
    OwnerPassword = <040b7479 70656473 74726561 6d8103e8 84014084 8484084e 53537472 696e6701 8484084e 534f626a 65637400 8584012b 04626c61 6886>;
    UserPassword = <040b7479 70656473 74726561 6d8103e8 84014084 8484084e 53537472 696e6701 8484084e 534f626a 65637400 8584012b 03626f62 86>;

What you need to do is set up the security options, and THEN save your pPref job options file into your watched folder.

Andrew

Thanks for the tip. --- I did notice that late yesterday after posting here as I started to open up the Pref files in Text Edit in looking at setting up Watch Folders.

I think I'm starting to get my head around the work flow and where all the little gems are hidden. Now, if you could just come up with a routine to add additional hours to the day that would be great :D LOL

Cheers and thanks again
