We quite often have to produce Banner up display systems. Although telling clients that they can supply files at half or even quarter size, alot of Agencies supply files at size. This can be anything up to 3 metres. When we drop any of these files into PStill the top half of the files are blank. Is there any way of getting PStill to convert these large files.
Thanks
Andy

If something doesn't work in PStill, we want to know! PStill is in automated use around the globe for high end production.

Can you send me and Frank any file that shows this incorrect behavior?
Andrew at Stone dot com and Frank at wizards dot de

Thanks!

I ran into this problem too.
I have made some large banner to be glued(?) on a tramway and found that some of the larger banners where cutted of.
Some research let me found out, that the specs of pdf 6 gives a maximum size of 200 by 200 zoll (inch). In PDF 7 the maximum size is 15.000 by 15.000 inch.
I don´t know if PDF 7 is supported by PSStill.
In my case i shinked the banner by half and the printing-pros have enlarged them on theire own system.

Perhaps an alarm-window could be useful if the maximum size is exceeded?

Regards,
A. Wolff

Preferences -> PDF -> PDF Version 1.6 (Acrobat 7) might help?

PDF version 1.6 does not help.
I get the same problem when doing large posters and banners for exhibitions.

The simple solution for the time being is use Apples built in pdf options in OSX 10.4.
