I've made HTML Stamps for Create, as seen here:

I just couldn't stand seeing this little thing be available only for packages from the megacorps. I'll be sending these to the twinsparc people as well, even though I'm sure they'll say "Create? What in tarnation is that?"

I ended up adding them in manually, they are there, and they look great.

Can you share how people use these stamps? I'm not sure I understand how they are used in the creation of a web page, so any advice or perspective is always appreciated.

The design is copied from the screenshot on their website. I agree they look nice.



There's a Quicktime movie on their site demonstrating how they're used. The idea is you create a screen, and then you use the badges to mark areas of the page that will be certain types of HTML elements. It can be especially useful, I would think, in situations where the designer and the HTML builder are not the same people.

This is a bit of a funny thing to do with Create, since it does support direct creation of web pages, but for people like me who hand code all their websites, but design in other applications, it could be useful.

I have to admit that I don't see myself using this technique (as a one guy operation most of the time, it doesn't have that much use for me), but I had to jump on something easy that I thought might push Create's visibility up just a bit. That is, after I get this Create version out to the author.

This makes a nice addition. I usually only check out the main page of Daring Fireball, so I hadn't seen this. The Quicktime tutorial does a great job showing how to use these stamps. I, personally, would think that Create (or InDesign) makes a better app for creating demo sites than Illustrator or Photoshop because you have the ability to have multiple pages and can set up master layers for common page elements.

I've sketched out many sites this way in Create.

Of course, now I have a new tool to help out with that.
