A client wanted me to post some photos on his website. His website has a blue background, and he wanted the photos to appear as if they were coming out of the background, or fading into it. Basically I needed a blue cepiatone effect.

In iPhoto, I converted the photos to B&W.

In Create, I found a blue that matched the background. Drew a box the same size as the photo, and filled it with a transparent blue. I layered the transparent blue box over the photo, and grouped them. Voila! The photo looks like it is coming out of the background.

So with iPhoto and Create, you can simulate a cepiatone efect for any color.

Very cool, Roger. PhotoToWeb has a black-and-white output option too, if you want just use Stone Studio tools ;-)

Thanks for the pointer. I haven't played around with Photo to Web enough to discover that feature. (But it's in the works for several upcoming projects.)

Be sure to grab the latest version from yesterday - since Help got finished and the B&W option is finally working again.
