I have a background picture that is filled the whole page, and I am trying to insert a quick time movie and a button on top of that page. What do I need to do? ( I am getting a message saying about the overlap)

Easy - make that background image the View's background image, not a plain graphic.

Bring up Info -> View
Drop that picture on to the "Set Image" button (or click that button and navigate to the image).

You can also set the "dissolve"

Under the "Set Image" button, you'll see a "Tile" checkbox, make sure it is NOT checked.

You'll get the best results if you make sure the background image is the same size as you have selected for the Web page.

Create makes a standard Web size of 8.5 x 6.5 inches, which I think is roughly equivalent to an 800x600 screen size. (Web -> New Web Size). This provides broad compatibility, especially with older (pre-Y2K), low-end Windows systems, for easy visibility with no scrolling.

Also, even though your are generating a new web site from Create, I have found that sometimes Safari does not refresh the data - it still uses the "old" version until I hit the refresh button. So be sure you try that.

Background images are always tiled in your web output. This is the way the html works. You can use it to your advantage, small image tiled is quick to load. Animated gif of snow works well you can use small images but because it is tiled the whole screen is covered. Remember someone will have a large screen so it is worth checking to see if this ruins the artistic look of your page.

Yes the background image is tiling. That's most of 6 images 2 high 3 wide on a 20 inch screen.

To overcome this add the background colour of your web page to the right and bottom of your image.

Easy to do in Create.
Make a new document.
Set the page to very large custom size.
Drag out large rectangle an fill with web page background colour.
Add graphic to top left corner.
Select both and drag new image from well. The image will still tile but not be so obvious.

Look out for this.
Background images tile from the top left of the browser window. In web -> Web Options under Appearance you can chose to centre content, this does not apply to the background image. If this option is selected the images in the foreground appear to move across the images in the background as you drag the browser window to alter it's size.

I'm having trouble with the same thing. I created and image and saved it as art and tried to drag it from the image well into info->VIEW->background image, but it won't go. Do I need to save the image in a particular format? It is the background art for an html newsletter.

Thanks
