I exported a Create (V 14.2.3, build 818) document as a PDF. I then opened it in Adobe Reader 9.1.0. There are two problems I have not been able to resolve.

1. Pages in the Create file are 11 x 14 (W x H, in inches), but appear as 8.5 x 11 in the PDF: the right side of the pages are truncated.
2. The background colors from Create pages are ignored in Adobe Reader, where all page backgrounds are white.

I played with Reader’s Preferences and other commands, but without success.

Any suggestions. TIA. fjd

I have run into this problem on occasion also, when reate seems to not "remember" the page size. I go into the page settings, change it to some other page size, and then back to the page size I want, save and print. That has always fixed it for me.

In Create's Info Pannel, go to the View section and click on "Page Background > Print"

Wow! Ask and you shall receive.

Page Background
I did click on Print in the Info Panel/View/Page Background section -- 56 times for 56 pages in my document -- and it worked exactly as you said.

Page Size
Even though the document I was working on is 14 (W) x 11 (H), the File/Custom Page Size Dialog Box still showed 8.5 x 11 inches. I corrected the dimensions and re-saved the document.

Export as PDF worked flawlessly.

Thank you very much. I certainly appreciated your timely and helpful response.

Now, to figure out why Time Machine keeps halting ("Failing"). My guess is that it has to do with sleep settings ... but I also suspect my back-up disk might be failing, not a good thing since I just had to replace a G5 Mac Pro as its processor and its hard drive decided to die together about a month ago.

Hint: If you set your background on a Master Layer and apply the Master Layer to your pages, you only have to make the background changes on the Master Layer.

I'm glad you got the results you wanted!

Thanks. I simply did not think of Master Layers in terms of the page background color(s). Makes perfect sense.

Once again, many thanks, fjd
