I am considering buying a Wacom Intuos4 tablet. Is this compatible with Create? Does anyone have any experience to share about using a tablet with Create?

I have a Wacom Bamboo tablet - the little brother of the Intuos - and this is completely compatible with Create. So I guess you should be OK with the Intuos also.

However I must say I rarely use my tablet together with Create because for me it does not offer much added value over the mouse/keyboard combination (besides maybe in combination with the freehand tool for drawing). For me personally, my Bamboo really rocks using an image editor, where you can use the pen to make precise selections, paint, draw using the pressure sensitivity of the tablet, ...

Finally I dropped the big bucks on an Intuos4, size large. With the pen or mouse, I find freehand drawing and the adjustment of vector handles much easier and more accurate than with a mouse. General maneuvering around is quicker with the pen than the mouse. The most help I get is from the ability to program a button on the pen or mouse for 'precision' mode which slows the cursor to a crawl. Combined with a zoom wheel on the pad, I can finally shape and position graphics accurately and quickly with my big clumsy hands. Programming the various functions to the mouse and pen has not been 100% successful, but most transfer well. While use with Create alone may not justify the cost, and the large size may be overkill, the added facility of use it has given to other programs more than pays for it. The positioning of the mouse, for example, is far more accurate on the pad than on the desktop. I also installed a second monitor on the first-generation Intel iMac, which has definitely been worth it. Combined with the pad, it's a whole new world of computing for a fraction of the cost of upgrading the computer.
