As a follow-up to this, I learned a time-consuming lesson here. I did delete my temporary items folder, not realizing that where I'd used those images in other applications, a link to the file had been created. Ergo, when I opened those files again, those graphic images could not be found. And you say, "Why didn't you just take your temporary items out of the trash and replace them?" Yes, that would have been a good idea, but I use Hazel, and she did her job too well and trashed that large file right away.
I'm talking about images I had dragged from Create directly to another application, bypassing saving on my hard drive. Common sense, which I apparently don't have in abundance, should have told me that links were being created instead of the applications actually storing all the images. I should have known better, and now I do. Fortunately, I still had all the images in my Create files, so it was just a matter of dragging them out again, this time to my hard drive first! That also explains why my temporary items folder was so large.
