Hello,

I already own Imaginator and Twittelator and I am a longtime fan of Stone products. I am trying to create an animated gif. GifFun won't allow me to add text, so I'm trying Videator.

I am testing the demo to see if I can use it to create slideshows. I am not using any transitions and am using a series of images that I want to flow at a particular speed to create a natural-looking (not choppy or too speeded up) effect.

The problem is that even though the number I put into the "duration" field for the slideshow preferences changes the speed at which my animated images flow, the speed is unpredictable and uncontrollable. For example, 20 successive images of a person running may look like slow motion at one speed, but changing the number to create a full second of difference makes the image flow at a speed way different than that second should have caused. When I go back to the original number (which represented fractions of a second) the images now flow at some random speed rather than the speed they flowed at originally!

In fact, I've now discovered that I can put letters, punctuation, etc. in the duration field- it doesn't matter, the images flow at some random rate, and the number of seconds don't mean the same thing each time. The box is almost useless since I cannot control speed. Is this a bug in the demo? Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure you are using the newest Videator: 4.7.1

http://homepage.mac.com/stone_design/.P ... tor.dmg.gz

So, the Preferences only control newly added images - not ones added already - or are you talking about Tools -> Change Slides...

Thank you for your response. No- I am using "add new slideshow" and adjusting the time there. Do you know why I'm having this problem using that feature? When I change the numbers, all of the slides are affected- they are just affected unpredictably. I need to know why this occurs and how to change the timing of all slides at once.

Probably some subtle bug that I need to look into. Meanwhile, we're cranking out more cool iPhone apps!

Oh, and BTW: you can simply set the duration, the transition duration and transition type in Preferences -> Images, and then drag in a bunch of photos to create a slideshow - no need to use the Open Panel - especially if it doesn't work!

OK- that's exactly what I've been doing. :? Well, if it's a bug I'm sure you will find and fix it. In the meantime, I'll keep experimenting.
