 Post subject: creating and ad

I am new to Imaginator. I often times have to create ads for print media. The ads will be a specific size (e.g. 2.4375 in. x 6.9375). In the former software that I was uisng (Windows Picture It), I would create a document with this dimension, import a photo I wanted as backgound, using a drag function I would make it bigger or smaller so the picture would fill the ad size. The document borders would show through the picture and finally I would use a cropping tool and drag it over the borders to crop the photo perfectly to the ad. How do I approach this project using imaginator?

Location: Kent, England.
Add the scale effect.
Then go Image -> Set crop (from drop down menu at top of screen).
Enter the size of image you want in pixels. Do not worry about X and Y values and click OK.
Crop box has appeared on image. To move crop box press and hold alt key, mouse pointer becomes hand, mouse down in crop box and move to desired location.
Now move the scale slider to make the image fill the crop box.
Drag image from image well.

Crop and Crop fade mask are acting up and will not drag out larger for me, can someone verify.

If you turn on rulers you can click the ruler to add guides.
Selecting crop in the tool bar then clicking and dragging out desired rectangle shows start and finish position of crop (would be nice if width and height were shown as you did this).
