Apple made the transition to Intel chips in less than a year, the rest of us will take more time wearing out our G3's, G4's and G5's.

I upgraded to iLife 08 and my iMac G5 has real trouble getting iPhoto and iMovie to work well. Editing a photo in iPhoto, just altering brightness or contrast, is very slow and unresponsive making obtaining the desired result very hit or miss. Zooming in on the image makes it impossible just loads of spinning beach ball. iMovie is also slow and unresponsive.

What are your findings? Are Apple secretly trying to get us to use Adobe Photoshop Elements? Post your conspiracy theory here. What do you think of Core image/video?

In my mind it shows just what a great job Andrew did getting iMaginator and Videator up and running.

Well, I can't even install iMovie '08 on my G4 PowerBook, but iPhoto doesn't have any real issues on it, save some of the web gallery publishing bugs that have been squashed with the incremental updates. I just got this thing a year or so ago too (post-MacBook Pro intro at a relatively large discount), and aside from Java and Flash dragging, it's been pretty good to me. It certainly goes without saying that Andrew knows how to really get the most out of his applications though. I bet even the newest whatnot he has planned for Leopard is going to glide smoothly.
