Q: I've made an image with transparency in Create, and I want to make it into a sliced image. How can I preserve the transparency?

A:

  1. Set the Image Well type to PNG and drag the image from Create to SliceAndDice. In fact, you can use any PNG image in SliceAndDice; it doesn't have to be made in Create.

  2. Slice it up in SliceAndDice.

  3. In the Document Info window (Tools->Show Info), make the background color transparent by selecting Black in the Color window and dragging the Opacity slider to 0.

  4. Also in the Document Info window, set the Output Slices format to PNG.

That's it! Now you can save the SliceAndDice document for Create and drag the file into your Create document. The background will show through the transparent areas of the image.
