Q: In Create 10.5.7 or lower, on Jaguar, Custom Page Size... doesn't work

A: Download the new version 10.6 (or higher).

Jaguar introduces custom paper sizes, accesible via File->Page Setup....

To use, bring up the Page Setup sheet and choose Custom Paper Size from the Settings menu. Click the New button and enter a name, size, and margin settings for your new paper size. Click the Save button. This custom size will be available in all your applications.

The newest version can always be downloaded here.

This is fixed in Version 10.6.

Q: In Create 10.5.7 or lower on Jaguar, text with effects draws all the characters at the beginning of the text block. Ditto for text turned into splines.

The newest version can always be downloaded here.

This is fixed in Version 10.6.

Q: In TimeEqualsMoney 2.0, emailing invoices and reports doesn't work in Jaguar.

A: Download the newest version (2.0 or higher).

The newest version can always be downloaded here.

Q: In Create under Jaguar, text areas won't show partial paragraphs; the text area must be large enough to include the whole paragraph.

A: This is a feature of the new Jaguar typesetting mechanism. In Create 10.6, you can turn off the new typesetting features by setting a Create default.

In Terminal, type:

defaults write com.stone.Create TypesetterBehavior 0

and restart Create.

This will cause the typesetter to use the original typesetting behavior, so that Create's text areas will lay out partial paragraphs.

There are certain advantages to using the new typesetting behavior. In particular, if you import RTF files that include between paragraph spacing information, the new typesetter will use that information in laying out paragraphs. To turn the new typesetting behavior back on, in Terminal, type:

defaults write com.stone.Create TypesetterBehavior -1

and restart Create.

Q: Since I upgraded to Jaguar when I open old Create documents they appear like tiny little windows, what can I do?

A: Jaguar changed the way saved page sizes are handled. This has been fixed in Create version 10.6.1, but until you upgrade (remember, Stone Design offers free upgrades for life) you can also run "Page Setup..." to get your document visible again.
